3rd Monitoring Scan & Trigger Jab

It was sunny cheery Saturday morning. My sonographer, registered nurse and doctor were around. They did a scan and my eggs grew. 9 egg follicles: 1 x 19.5mm, 2 x 18.5mm, 3 x 18mm, 1 x 17mm and 2 x 14.5mm. My lining was 8.5mm and she said it’s optimal. They were hoping the otherContinue reading “3rd Monitoring Scan & Trigger Jab”

2nd Monitoring Scan – Day 9

This morning, the sonographer counted 9 growing eggs (2 were slow growing at 12mm but might grow still). The other 7 were: 1 x 18mm, 2 x 17.5mm, 3 x 17mm and 1 x 16.5mm. There were a few other small ones (about 3-4) which they didn’t record as it wasn’t going to make it.Continue reading “2nd Monitoring Scan – Day 9”

1st Monitoring Scan – Day 5

Had my first monitoring scan this morning and estrogen level check. The sonographer counted 7 eggs. I was a little disturbed with the low number of eggs after 5 days of stimulation. It was low in my opinion since I read IVF forums where people announce they have like more than 15 eggs.. Some evenContinue reading “1st Monitoring Scan – Day 5”

Baseline Scan

I had my baseline scan early in the morning – ovaries were cleared. Lining has shedded. I also took hormonal blood test (progesterone and estrogen). The nurse said she would call me later to give me further instructions as they had to review my bloodwork first. I got a call at around 3pm and theContinue reading “Baseline Scan”

Period is Here

BCP ended on 19 October. I still continued with Lupron 10 units. My menses came 7 days later on 26 October. As it came in the evening, the facility was closed already. I will call my doctor tomorrow to schedule the baseline scan. I have been taking my prenatal and added additional folate from PinkContinue reading “Period is Here”

Medication is Here

Freedom was awesome, they processed my order that very day (15 Oct) and did an overnight FedEx. My medication (Gonal f, Lupron and Menopur) arrived well packed with lots of extra syringes, alcohol pads and gauze. The Ovidrel came in a insulated cold pack as it requires refrigeration. I am kinda overwhelmed with so manyContinue reading “Medication is Here”

Insurance is Dirty

So… Advanced assisted reproductive procedures require pre-certification. It was a month of multiple faxes because the insurance provider (one of the biggest in the country) gave me different answers each time. I had to fill up different forms because of their inefficiency. They rejected my pre-certification thrice. We finally got IVF approved and after myContinue reading “Insurance is Dirty”

Lab Tests/Blood Tests + Next Steps..

I waited 34 days for my period (at least it came so I am not complaining). 18 vials of blood drawn from me and results came out the next morning (super fast!). Hubby did his 2 weeks ago as he could do it any time. Insurance paid for these tests which totaled to a coupleContinue reading “Lab Tests/Blood Tests + Next Steps..”
